Terms of Service.
Last updated: 2026-06-22. Please read these terms before using Hammerstein.ai. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these terms.
1. The service
Hammerstein.ai is an AI-assisted wargaming and strategic-reasoning service operated by Ray Weiss / Conflict Simulations LLC. The service provides an AI advisory tool for tabletop wargames and strategic decision-making practice through the following modes: Wargamer, Chat, Kriegsspiel, and Matrix.
The service is provided "as is" and is in active development. Features, interfaces, and subscription terms may change. We will make reasonable efforts to notify subscribers of material changes.
2. Eligibility and accounts
You must be at least 13 years old (or 16 in the EEA) to use this service. By subscribing, you represent that you meet this requirement.
Access to paid surfaces is gated by a subscriber token issued to the email address you provided at checkout. You are responsible for keeping your token confidential. Do not share your token with others.
3. Subscriptions and billing
Paid subscriptions are managed through Stripe. By subscribing, you agree to Stripe's terms of service in addition to these terms. Billing is handled entirely by Stripe; we do not store or process payment card data ourselves.
Plans
Current plan tiers and their monthly turn limits are described on the pricing section of the home page. Plan details may change; changes to an active subscription's limits will be communicated to subscribers before taking effect.
Cancellation
You may cancel your subscription at any time via the Stripe customer portal, accessible from your account page. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. You retain access to paid surfaces through the period you have already paid for. We do not offer pro-rata refunds for mid-period cancellation except where required by applicable law.
Lifetime subscriptions
Where a "Lifetime" plan is offered, it grants access for as long as the service is operated under its current form. If the service is discontinued or materially restructured, we will provide reasonable notice and, where feasible, a comparable migration path. Lifetime subscriptions are non-transferable and non-refundable after 14 days from purchase.
Refunds
Monthly subscription fees are not refundable once a billing period has begun, except where required by applicable law. For Lifetime subscriptions, contact rweiss@consimsltd.com within the refund window stated above.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to use Hammerstein.ai to:
- Violate any applicable law or regulation.
- Attempt to circumvent subscription limits, token validation, or usage caps.
- Resell, sublicense, or redistribute access to the service.
- Reverse-engineer, scrape, or systematically extract content from the service beyond what is permitted by the open-source framework.
- Submit content that is unlawful, harassing, or that infringes third-party intellectual property rights.
- Attempt to access another user's account or data.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access for violations of these terms.
5. AI advisory disclaimer
Hammerstein.ai provides AI-generated advisory output for entertainment and decision-practice purposes. All output is advisory only — it is not authoritative, guaranteed, or infallible.
The service uses a large-language model (Anthropic Claude Sonnet 4.6, routed via OpenRouter) combined with the Hammerstein framework prompt and corpus. AI models can produce incorrect, inconsistent, or contextually inappropriate outputs. The quality of output depends on the quality of inputs you provide. Orders issued by the system may be suboptimal, rule-inconsistent, or strategically mistaken.
Do not use this service as a substitute for human judgment in any context where accuracy is material to real-world decisions. The service is designed for wargame decision-practice and entertainment. It is not a substitute for professional legal, financial, medical, or strategic advice of any kind.
6. Intellectual property
The Hammerstein framework, system prompt, and open-source corpus are published under open-source licenses at github.com/lerugray/hammerstein. The hosted service, site design, brand, and proprietary extensions remain the property of Ray Weiss / Conflict Simulations LLC.
You retain ownership of any content you submit (board states, turn questions, etc.). By submitting content you grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to process it for the purpose of delivering the service. If you have enabled the improvement opt-in on your account page, you additionally grant us a license to use that content for model improvement work, which you may withdraw at any time by disabling the toggle.
7. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Conflict Simulations LLC and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your use of the service, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of profits, or costs of substitute services.
Our total aggregate liability to you for any claim arising out of or related to these terms or the service shall not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim, or (b) $50 USD.
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain types of liability. In those jurisdictions, our liability is limited to the maximum extent permitted by law.
8. Disclaimers
The service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any particular output will be accurate or suitable for your use.
9. Changes to the service and these terms
We may modify these terms at any time. Material changes will be notified by updating the "Last updated" date on this page and, where practical, by email to active subscribers. Continued use of the service after the effective date of a material change constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
10. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the State in which Conflict Simulations LLC is organized. Any disputes arising out of or related to these terms or the service shall be resolved exclusively in the courts of that jurisdiction, and you consent to personal jurisdiction there.
